I just heard this on the radio. Hopefully Bono was just having an off day when he was interviewed and it won't come to anything.

I think it is typical of the media when they extract a few words from an interview that they think will make headlines. I don't think we have anything to worry about.

Yup - irrelevant like the Rolling Stones.

As long as U2 keep making music I like and touring, I couldn't care less if they are in the charts or not.

Bono needs to get over himself in this respect. That stereotypical "ego" that all the detractors bang on
about is really his Achilles heel. Let it go Bono...

And here is Neil McCormick's thoughts from his Telegraph article.

Just what we were all thinking.

My thoughts exactly Gene.

Does Neil McCormick annoy anyone else? I think its since watching Killing Bono, but he irritates me now.

I couldn't disagree more- Bono's ego is one of the keys that have kept them relevant late into their 40's when no other band has ever managed to do this. Without that Band Ego, definitely not personal ego, U2 would not have been as successful as they are. As for their relevance now, they are no more irrelevant than after Pop was released with no hits. There was plenty of hit singles after POP- they can do it again. Weather we want hit singles is an entirely different equation for me. I loved NLOTH!
