SUPER group U2 are coming back to New Zealand.
The world's biggest rock band will kick off the Down Under leg of the U2 360 Tour at Auckland's Mt Smart Stadium on November 25.
It is the fifth time they have visited this country.
Tickets for the Mt Smart gig will go on sale on September 3, with general admission prices starting from $39.90.
Construction has already begun on a temporary stand for fans at the home of the Warriors league team.
Following the show in Auckland, the band will travel to Australia for gigs in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Perth.
The radical stage set-up used for the U2 360 Tour will vastly increase stadium capacities.
"U2 has always been at their best when surrounded by their audience, and this extraordinary production makes that happen in stadiums," U2's manager Paul McGuinness said.
The U2 360 Tour kicked off again in Turin, Italy, this month.
By the time it reaches New Zealand and Australia, U2 360 will have been seen by more than 4 million fans.

Thanks Mike... fantastic news! Can't wait.
And it all starts over again... lets see how the ticket sales go for this.
Ahhh, now that really
me off! Thursday night, right in the centre of NCEA examinations! Could they have not at least waited an extra week?
You should have taken Cambridge as their exams finish mid November.
I would be pissed off as well. Does your exam schedule still allow you to see the concert?

Well, I have an exam the morning of the concert, but if I get really desperate, I could fly up that afternoon, then come back the next day. Alternatively, if the first night is a sell out, they could then announce a second show Fri/Sat night (as has been done overseas), which would just be awesome!
We will keep our fingers crossed that they will have a second concert on the Friday so that you can really enjoy it without being rushed. In the meantime study hard and get as many credits as you can before the exams hit.
The concert is the day after my final NCEA exams
, but I have a friend who has a scholarship exam the following day.
How soon after the first sale would you estimate that a second concert would be announced? - I'm wanting to go to both but may be strapped for cash.

Last time it was announced within a few days. The tickets were on sale a week after the first concert.
